I was looking through posts from 2012 and came across one talking about the price of gas. During September of 2012 prices were at 3.50 a gallon on average. Right now it's about 2.50 a gallon on the low end of the price range. That's out of my budget range, but we will make it work. Let's figure out how we are going to achieve making it work.
What are we going to do? We are going to ration out gasoline, and pack picnics when we go out to the park. There are free things that we can do such as the park and walking around the neighborhood playing Pokeman, (provided I can get back in our account), we will be taking advantage of them. My child likes the outdoors even if I don't when the temperatures begin to soar so that's what she's getting.
My air conditioning is off as long as possible during the day to prevent the light bill from being to high. My dryer isn't used unless I absolutely have to use it for something, and the dishwasher is only used when I fall behind on the dishes now. I'm preparing for something special and getting caught up on some things so I'm being extra careful.
We won't be going out to eat except for pre-planned, pre-budgeted outings. I've managed to get the oil changed, and I'm figuring out what else I have to do to make the trip to Mobile, Al for my oldest daughter's high school graduation.
There is the goal of only buying a tank of gas every two weeks during the summer, and next school year. I have a large goal to meet by the end of Theresa's six grade year. I am confident that I can achieve it if I break it down into steps and make a plan for each one of them.
What goals are you working on? Do you have plans that you can't tell people about just yet because you want to make sure everything goes right when it comes time to fulfill them?
