These past few weeks were filled with circumstances beyond my control. When you are sick and miserable everything becomes a chore but when your child is sick it gets worse. There is nothing worse than feeling helpless because you cannot do anything to prevent or stop the discomfort they feel.
Right after Thanksgiving break Theresa missed three days of school as a result of an upper respiratory infection. This past week she has missed two days so far as a result of a stomach virus. I just thought the respiratory infection was bad, I was far from prepared for the projectile vomiting. We made it through though, and we will continue to make it through.
Her first day back to school today she ended up at the nurse but there was no fever or anything else that required they send her home. However if I want she can stay home to rest tomorrow. She isn't fully recovered despite the prediction of the nurse practitioner she saw. While the physical symptoms are mostly gone the fatigue remains. It is not likely to go away in a day so she may just get to stay home tomorrow like she had asked to today. I probably should have kept her home and took her to my appointment with me.
My Appointment
Today I went for a routine follow-up to get results of blood work. Well, my vitamin D is low and so is my good cholesterol. I got prescriptions to help with both. I go back in three months to see if my numbers are where they are supposed to be. I also got my previous prescriptions sent to the pharmacy with two refills each. Later this month I'll go for an appointment with a new shrink. That's something for another time though.
Meanwhile I hope that you are avoiding the illness of the season. I have more cleaning to do, I'm on a rampage against germs.
